After a week of dreary weather it’s time to reflect on some past trips. Continue the Vancouver Island theme recently, this was back in August 2017 when Adam and I climbed Golden Hinde (highest on the island), The Behinde, Mt. Burman and both summits of Phillips Ridge in a course of 3.5 days via Arnica Lake approach, in some of the finest summer weather. This might not be a technicality challenging trip but extremely physically demanding and definitely rewarding. #goldenhinde#vancouverisland

Happy voting day fellow Canadians! Millennials, we now out number the Boomers, our votes make a difference and really matter so get out there and vote! I am personally voting for climate action and protection of fragile ecosystems across this country! #govote#gogreen
As much as I love the rain...really missing that nice dry summer weather so conducive for long days in the mountains. Here’s @dmckean3 on the summit traverse of Colonel Foster. If you’re into scrambling and on the island, this is the premier route.
As fall firmly sets in and the mountain tops start to get that lite white dusting of snow I will miss how beautiful this summer was in the alpine. ⛰ #mindfulexplorer#explorebeyondtheusual 📷Photo Loc : NinePeaks, VanIsle, BC
Stellar Jays seem to be either well liked or hated and nothing in between. I personally think they look cool but some people can't get over the admittedly annoying bird call. Either way I'll take any wildlife I can for some good photography
Travelling with Pacific Backroader is a unique way to explore this beautiful part of the world and we are beyond excited to share our new (ad)venture with fellow outdoor enthusiasts. . . . #pacificbackroader#explorebc

Watcha having for lunch? Whiskey Jacks, Canada’s national bird, are a frequent sight at higher elevations on Vancouver Island. They’re known to be quite tame, and will try to nab your food if you’re not careful. . . . #vancouverisland#explorevancouverisland
Thinking about Mt Albert Edward as I rehab my second hamstring injury; I was fortunate to heal the first hamstring fast enough to enjoy a summer of hiking, climbing, and working outdoor kids camps, and this makes me hopeful for the other leg! 😬🤞 • Acknowledging, with gratitude, the traditional territory of the K’òmoks First Nation • 📷 by @eternal.bean • • • • #getoutside#injuryrecovery
We stopped at a local coffee shop before heading out to Strathcona and were asked by both people we interacted with if we had a) bear bells (barista) and b) bear spray (guy standing behind us in line). No. And no. But, how about a healthy dose of bearanoia? . I told myself (and my husband) that we were going to one of the most popular trails in the park. Of course, I also suggested he whistle (loudly) the entire hike. Oh, how I wish I could whistle. . We arrived at the trailhead...and it was filled with kids. I’d ...
