The Sun is my Lighthouse || El Sol es mi Faro (Howth, County Dublin. Ireland). "I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination." James Dean. If you look closely, you will see in this image small details that tell a story that perhaps happened a long time ago. One spring day the old pirate arrived with his son at the port of the fishing village of Howth, he was already so sick that they could not leave. There the old pirate spent his last days, while his son took care of him, the young man became one more among the population of the place. When he met the daughter of the lighthouse keeper, the two beautiful young people quickly fell in love. She had never left that place, she had never sailed the seas, she was always afraid to swim. Just before he died, the old pirate asked his son to take his ashes to go around the world one more time, and to throw them away in the depths of the sea. So the pirate's son prepared to go, but he would not sail alone, he thought that she would leave her fears behind and together they would depart at sundown. The world is too dangerous, she replied. We will protect each other, he assured. Too many risks, she answered. More risky is the monotony, he replied. There was no agreement and he left from where he came. But before leaving he promised to return some day during the sundown. Days, weeks, months, years passed, and her patience ended. When he finally returned, she was waiting next to the lighthouse with her new love. Leaving the big city, spending a day in a place full of tranquility like Howth in the north of Dublin, with its harbor, its nature and the sea breeze, nothing better for the imagination. #howth #lighthouse #dublin #ireland #irlanda #europe #sunset
