Photo by @daisygilardini | Elephants use their ears to regulate body temperature in the heat. Flapping them acts like a fan. It moves air around the body, and cools the blood, that is circulating through the ear veins. Cooler blood lowers the elephant’s core temperature by several degrees. The ears also indicate when the elephant is curious, angry or feels threatened. In these situations, it will spread its ears wide and face the subject of interest or fear. #africa #elephant #botswana #chobenationalpark #wildlifephotography #nikon #lowepro #loweprobags #gitzoinspires #frametheextraordinary #framedongitzo @gitzoinspires #eizousa #visualizeoneizo #sandisk #westerndigital
