I met a fascinating woman on the plane today. We talked about our new lives after losing our husbands. I had to write about our conversation - http://driverworks.blogspot.com/2019/08/a-woman-on-plane-and-our-talk-about.html
Someone didn't want to have an afternoon nap. So I put her to work. She's not the best typist, but she's got the cute factor going for her. And now we're having a raspberry-blowing contest, 'cause I know how to have fun. 😁
Working at night is not new to me. I've done it on occasion for decades as a freelance journalist working from home while raising children. And on occasion again as an author, editor and book publisher. Tonight's late night was my own doing. I was up early to look after two adorable little grandchildren all day. I've spent the afternoon writing short stories in my office, enjoying the sounds of the birds in the hedge outside my window. Last week, a little bird landed on the window ledge to check out my shiny crystal prism. No camera was handy. The first pre-order for the Flight book arrived in today's mail! Two books purchased. Hurray! I love that people trust me enough to place their orders before they see an actual book. I've been emailing contributing writers about their submissions, getting contracts signed, and writing the pieces I have to write about the nice folks I've interviewed. It's coming along nicely. #aviation#shortstories
