In the last decade I've been able to hike to some incredible places! Spending 4 days in the Alpine lakes wilderness during the height of fall color is a hard one to beat! This is a collection of photos from 5 years ago, and a trip I still remember vividly! This was definitely a highlight from the last decade!! What was one of your favorite trips of the past decade? . . . . #bpmag#trailchat
If someone can alert Harry, Hermione, and Ron that there are some death eater shenanigans happening in Wyoming, that'd be GREAT! Bummed that Milky Way season is nearly behind us, but it has been an incredible 5-6 months shooting the wonders of the night sky.
Every time I’ve hiked Cutler Coast it has been rainy and foggy the majority of the time. There wasn’t much of a sunset from out campsite, but we noticed the sky changing colors through the door of the tent early this morning. We relocated to the rocks and the sun gradually rose as we watched curious seals wander and a passing lobster crew heading to collect their traps. It is difficult to put into words how this place can make you feel and will always feel like home. #cutlercoast#atlantic
After being in survival mode and running and running around, state after state, for months, it feels amazing to just stay in a place and revel in the silence for a bit. Some might call it boring but I’ve been craving this for some time. It’s all about that balance yo. Can’t have crazy days every day #fog#landscape
Thankful for my sweet folks coming out to visit me for a week. Got to spend a damp snowy weekend in Yellowstone together with some great views. Excited for them to come to Logan for a few days to see what my town is like. . . . . . . #finditliveit#liveauthentic @salomon
Three years ago today! So much happened in the 5 months I spent on the AT, and so much has changed since then. Two months from now I'll be starting a new adventure, as the mom of a baby girl. I hope I can support her and encourage and empower her to take on her own challenges and adventures some day, whatever that looks like to her. #girlpower . . . . . #optoutside
A beautiful afternoon yesterday for a ride out to Barkhamsted for Reach Your Summit and FALPS Nature Narratives guided hike and wildlife talk in Peoples State Forest. Took the opportunity to test out the Komoot app too. Thank you to all that came out for the event and spent some of the last weekend of summer with us. I had a blast with you all! #blueblaze#newengland
We are so thrilled and excited to share our first collaboration with our friend Alyssa @drawntoecology! Alyssa is an artist who has a passion for sustainability and for creating art that captures the details of the places we love the most. In addition, she’s just about the sweetest person EVER and it has been so much fun to work with her on a few projects over the last few months. What a gift to be able to support artists who are really creating beautiful things! The art on these super soft tanks and tees was hand-drawn by Alyssa and ...
Last hike of the summer! The Northern Presidentials were absolutely breath taking. Conquered another 4000 footer and captured some amazing photos. The weather was amazing and I got to spend the weekend with some great friends. How did you spend the last weekend of summer this year?
Two more firetowers for my list (Federal Hill and Pack Monadnock) and an ice cream stop for #scoopsandloops. Easy peasy for the last day of summer with @jesse_wayfarer and @arya_huskygram #firetowerchallange
When I planned the PCT this time, what worried me wasn't the hiking. I knew how to do that. It was the logistics of it. Coming directly from work in Switzerland, with a full extra backpack or non hiking gear, and the need to send my snow gear off after the Sierra. But I've been incredibly lucky meeting wonderful people over the years who helped me with all of that. Taking care of all my extra stuff while I was out on trail. And all the trail angels out there who let me stay in their homes when hostels were ...
The changing of the season, half way to the winter solstice. It is a turn, shift, change from what we’ve been to what we’ll be. Even if the dates that we use are arbitrary, and even if we didn’t follow the time standards or calendar that was commissioned and created in order to be more disciplined in the worship of god, even if we were cut off from advancing cultures, we’d still find this date and mark it. The Incans did so without the same advancements or technology. What do I take from it? That time, and how we spend ...
